The MSCI World is a global equity index by MSCI Inc. that tracks roughly 1,500 companies across 23 developed markets. It is the most-cited benchmark for the performance of developed-market equities worldwide and is widely replicated by ETFs. Because the MSCI World excludes emerging markets, many investors combine it with the MSCI Emerging Markets index for fuller global diversification.
